hello all
i had updated my amd gpu driver had frequent BSODs after which i got the new one recommended by Toshiba and used display drive uninstaller and installed the new one.
i still get frequent bsods but...
these are the things ive tried
-ran win memory checker...sometimes it says there a hardware probs other times no
-ran memtest, shows no errors
-many forum recommend updating windows, but i get the 80070002 error..for this
-tried system update readiness tool, no use
-tried microsoft fixit no use
-have run sfc /scannow and chkdsk...sfc said they fixed some errors others they cannot

im attaching the req. stuff for bsod posting as well as the CBS.log from sfc

First; can you upload those files with a zipping program rather than the one you did it with? it will be easier to open that way. And actually; from what it looks like; it seem to me that at this point I would be looking at a complete clean install of windows. So with that said; I would make sure you have done a complete backup of anything important; and see my link in my signature that says "clean install windows 7"

yes, windows update

i really want to see if these errors can be fixed by updating to sp1 (for win 7 home premium)

its recommended on many sites, unfortunately i get the 80070002 error constantly

ive tried everything on the MS website to no avail

also my OS was pre installed ie. i cant do a clean install

Since it was pre installed it should have come with a disc with windows 7 on so you can re install it if needed. Can you look and see if that disc is nearby somewhere or did you buy the system used? Reason I ask is because at this point you might have to buy a copy of windows 7 in order to get a clean install done.

Unfortunately most computers don't come with a disc anymore.

As long as there is a valid COA on the computer there is no need to buy another license.

Everything need to reinstall is listed here,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164

Including a link to download an official installer.

@OP, I've requested someone to have a look at your CBS log.

I was sort debating that as I thought it may still come with a disc possibly. Because it not and it needs a entire clean re install done how is it gonna be done without it

The installers are free, it's the product key that you are paying for,

Windows 7 Direct Download Links

Let's not get ahead of the problems here though, there are logs posted in the first post that will help in

determining what the problems and possible fixes are. Those are .rar files, a common compression type.

They can be opened with WinRAR or 7Zip. I think a clean install should be put on the back burner for now.

I've uploaded a file - q95aa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\q95aa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\q95aa
or
DIR E:\q95aa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\q95aa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply.

The fix doesn't seem to have done anything - this is usually because the source files weren't put in the right place.

Please open an Elevated Command prompt and run the following command

DIR C:\q95aa
DIR C:\Windows\winsxs\q*.*

post the results.

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Nope - that's the result I would expect. :)
It means that either yiu messed up the Repair Environment commands or the registry is damaged. Back in a bit..

All I can really suggest is that you repeat the instructions again. paying particular attention to the spacing, and to any error messages you get.

reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

(e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply.

hello

Im sorry noel, but the same thing happens again..

When i run the xcopy command, it shows some things happening(i guess copying) and says some files have been copied

But when i check for the q*.* file in winsxs, it says file not found, as before.

Can i manually search for the files and replace them?

PS how can i know if the registry is damaged?

The q*.* folder/file should not be present in the winsxs folder - it should only be present in the root C:\folder.

What is the exact command you're running in the repair environment?

Please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt, and post the results.

Code:
ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs
ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-cryptplugininstaller_1122334455667788_6.1.7600.16385_none_38472e7cf4db637f /T
