Hi all, as per title I am suffering from quite a lot of BSOD incidents, I have attached the required logs/reports.

Computer is a Acer Extensa 5620 Laptop with Core 2 Duo proc and 3GB RAM, approx 4 years old. Win 7 Ultimate x64 Retail. With my limited understandng I noticed that a software called Rapport had caused 1 BSOD and software/driver Launch Manager had caused another so I have already removed them.

I had exactly the same experience a while back with Win 7 32 bit, so I did a clean install of the 64 bit, but no dice.

Thanks
Stu

Stu hi and welcome

Several problems here

When you ran driver verifier it trapped your network driver (netw5v64.sys) Yours is from before the release date of windows and needs updating. I would re-install it with the newest version availabe.

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Lets start with these two and when fixed we can investigate the true cause of the crashes.

Hi zigzag, thanks for the great response, below you can see how I got on updating drivers

mdmxsdk.sys - Modem - Could only find 2007 dated drivers
xaudio64.sys - Modem - " "
CAX_CNXT.sys - Modem - " "
CAXHWAZL.sys - Modem - " "
CAX_DPV.sys - Modem - " "

tifm21.sys - TI card reader - Acer shows this as current version for Win7 x64
nscirda.sys - Infrared Port - Acer shows this as current version for Win7 x64
SCDEmu.SYS - PowerISO - uninstalled
DKbFltr.sys - Dritek Launch Manager - Uninstalled

netw5v64.sys - Wifi - Updated
b57nd60a.sys - wifi - Updated

For the ones that say Acer shows........ I could not find newer drivers on the net.

I guess I will run the machine for a couple of days and see if it crashes again

Hi all, unfortunately I am still getting BSOD, so I want to ask what is the best way to take these old drivers out of the equation?

1) Just disable the hardware
2) uninstall the drivers then delete (or move) their files in the windows\system32\drivers folder
