Getting "reboot and select proper boot device" error on startup

Hello, Ive recently been getting this message and I cant seem to solve it.
I read a few topics and solutions, but I can't seem to grasp it. I am rather greatly unfamiliar with pc tech know how.
I tried putting the OS disk and restart, but I get the same error, and I dont know how to reinstall the OS. I can manage to get to the BIOS, if thats what its called, but Im not sure what to do from there. I tried setting priority to CD Rom but still, same error.

Im considering visiting the tech shop that built me the PC but if I can fix this at home I would give it a shot.

Im running Windows 7 Home premium 64bit.

Boot into BIOS setup, see if the hard drive is detected. If not change it's cables to see if it's detect or replace it.

If HD detected set it as first device to boot, save changes, exit and reboot. What is the exact error given?

In the boot tab and under priorities, I can see 3 options, the cd rom, removable , and another option that seems to be hd. This used to be the first option in priories when I ran BIOS, and I changed it to cdrom, but the same error persists

I asked you if HD was detected in BIOS. Look for the storage listings. What is the SATA controller setting.

Change Boot order so HD is first to boot. What is error now at reboot?

ok I think its detecting 2, and this is what I can see detected:
1st SATAM-ST2000DL00
2nd SATAS-1000DM00

saved and restarted but I get the same message

Next unplug any other HD's or peripherals, check that the Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved partition are marked Active: Mark Partition Active - Option Two.

This can be done with a visual map using free Partition Wizard bootable CD, to also post back a camera snap of the drive map and listings. How to Set Active/Inactive partition -Partition Wizard Video Help.

then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times.

If this fails you'll need to start at the top to work through these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start since Win7 may not repair unless it's first disinfected, or may require special steps if its corrupted.

If you lack a Win7 disk it's provided in Step 5.
