Getting rid of the Sun infection

Anyone know the percentage of malware that uses java or flash to exploit the system? I decided to boycott it completely and my computers have had no crashes since, even running xp without an antivirus.

So how do you get around using the internet with no java or flash?

It works pretty well. No pop-ups from isohunt saying you're computer is infected.. no automatic downloading of anything. No creepy feeling that every advertiser out there knows where I am. I have one machine that's been running for 2 years straight without a single error.

That's great, however most of the sites I 'need' require java. Do you have a way around this? Or do you simply not use java based sites?
