Getting the same emails over and over

My Parents have Windows Live Mail on their HP running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have cleared hundreds of emails from their account and emptied the Delete folder, and the same emails keep coming back in a few days; sometimes 5 or 6 of the same email.

They are running WLM version 2009, Build 14.0.8089.0726. When you close email, the box is still there telling you that it is checking and downloading emails. After a few minutes, it will say the following..

Please see the attachment...

If I can continue with WLM I will, otherwise is there a simple email client I can download and install, and merge their emails to?

Thank you in advance, for any assistance you can provide..

Lori

I suspect that they started blocking older clients. I wasn't able to get yahoo to work on outlook 2010 when I tried last year; I was getting the same error. You should contact them for server errors because there isn't really anything else you can do. Simple Steps to Setup Yahoo Email in Windows Live Mail - Contact Customer Service

I think that they require a paid subscription for a phone call and their email support is a joke. They've only given me canned text responses.

The error says that the server cut the connection. The default troubleshooting says possible networking but if this is a long term issue you can eliminate the network. If the connection settings are right (you might want to check for AT&T) you really can't do anything about the server cutting the connection issue but contact them. If they won't help you then you will probably have to change clients or go with using a browser. I mentioned trying on outlook 2010. I had no problems setting up yahoo on outlook 2016 on a virtual machine. Actually it was easier on 2016 because all I had to do was select yahoo and outlook put in all the required settings. All I needed to do was put in the username and app pass-code and I was in business.

Running the same version of Windows Live Mail here, and I have no issues connecting with the SBCGlobal servers. AT&T DID change their security a while back, requiring a Secure Mail Key. I vaguely remember making the change but don't recall how or where I obtained the key...

Located this page just now and it may help you get connected.

Thank you SundRance..

Thank you all for your assistance. Finally got thru to At&T Tech team and the helped clear the problem via remote desktop link. I stayed with them the whole time. Seems that an email got hung up in down load mode and kept resetting the server to look at the emails each day as new ones.. Once we cleared out the emails from the AT&T server and started fresh, no more issues.... My parents get their daily email once again, correctly..
