Getting windows 7 to show "ask permission" dialogue in parent controls

I have a question, please answer if you can. I have Parental controls set up on my son's account. I have blocked a game because I don't want him using it without permission. Right now when he tries to use it the reponse just says he can't. How can we get the "ask permission" dialog to appear as there are times I will allow it. Thanks for reading this

Well, what is the name of the software you're using? Have you tried contacting the company that made the software?

Great question F22Simpilot! Your question made me remember that Parental Controls can be found within Windows OS, many security and monitoring utilities, most browsers. And in some games as well?

I don't know about games, but I think there's some variant in Windows, or at least in a certain version of Windows. Maybe from Pro on up. Group policy would handle a great majority of it. I've seen at snapfiles.com some free parental control software, and to filter domains there's the free OpenDNS service which I have been using for some 12 years. Not so much for parental filtering, but DNS speed ups and security, etc. Your schools, libraries or organizations may use OpenDNS. It can be defeated, but group policy may be able to lock down the change of DNS at the computer level.

Thanks for your responses guys, I should have been more clear, it's the parental controls in Windows7 that we are using. We have now figured out that the security notifications were turned off and once we fixed that we are OK. I appreciate your responses, many thanks.
