During the last generation of games consoles PC gaming took a bit of a downturn in the graphics department. Console versions came first, meaning the PC ports could always easily run with a mid-range card. However, with the PS4 and Xbox One adopting an x86 architecture, the opportunity to start pushing the graphics on PC is there once more, and Gigabyte has developed a crazy watercooled triple-SLI graphics cards solution to cope.

Sorry you had to do that, Tommy. I know 2 970's will beat a 980, but I have tried to stay away from SLI/CFX. Too many horror stories and too many games that don't support it. But, you know, if you stop and think about it, Nvidia controls the power target and the additional voltage a manufacturer is allowed to give. So, unless you have a special binned chip in the card or a modded bios, there is not much that can be done. Nvidia has pre determined what any card will do. If you get an OC version, whatever headroom was there is partially already taken. The same will be true for the 970s too.

Yep single card all the way in unless you want to have problems in most games.

Well i was looking for something better but doubt that will happen pretty much i got a top flight card but never impressed me

Plus dealing with chumps on ebay trying to shortcut me on my card got tired i just took it off and gave the shysters the bird

Wow would be nice to afford even a 970, but am settling for a 760 in a week and a half though, going from a 560 so should see great improvements.

Mind you had to upgrade PSU to cope with the 760.
