Hi there
I usually try out stuff for quite a while - but OUTLOOK 2013 is a DISASTER -- create a new folder but I can't copy stuff to local folders --it says Inbox with say 20 emails in it but clicking on the email it's EMPTY. !! Stuff stays in a new folder in the IMAP folder - not in a LOCAL FOLDER.
All these new software packages seem to do is assume you are 100% connected to the Net -- sometimes even if you are you might want to access and peruse emails while you are OFFLINE.

Also you can't uncheck the box Test email account when creating a new email account - so if you aren't online the system FAILS. I'm using IMAP for my email.

BAD ONE Ms - probably the quickest piece of Software I've ever REMOVED from a system. What was wrong with building on the EXCELLENT Office 2010 -- now re-installed.

I used to think Ms Office was one of the best packages out there --Office 2010 obviously is the Pinnacle --it's all DOWNHILL from now on in -- and don't even get me started on the subscription models of Office 365.

It's now GONE -- Office 2010 re-installed --happy camper again.

Cheers
jimbo

Yup - been there, tried that (both!), hated it (them), went back to 2010.

Hi there
Now also running it on a Windows 8.1 VM on an external SSD (I've created a Linux system totally bootable from an SSD - doesn't use HOST Disks at all to boot etc and run the W8.1 system under VMware workstation / player for Linux) Runs fine on the SSD so now it doesn't matter wherever I am as I.ve got now a totally portable Windows system which runs on most laptops -- being a VM the image rarely requires activation as the Virtual hardware is usually constant.

I wonder if a Poll would show the most popular office versions --I'm sure it would be 2010 followed closely by 2007. 2013 definitely gets thumbs down in a lot of cases

Cheers

I am using Office 2013 Pro & I have not experienced any problems, with any of the programs.

What really is the difference between Outlook in Office 2010 & Outlook in Office 2013?. I thought they were virtually the same with just an update here & there, but I can't speak with any comparison experience as I have not used Office 2010.

no they have a bunch of differences, you can upload to skydrive Pro or reg easier right from the program
You can bring in a pdf, make changes to it and re save it as a pdf
Bringing in Pictures is a lot easier
Granted Office 2013 has a lot of quirks in it also that is why jim is tearing his hair out
If you have no patience for this program you will not do well with it- like my husband who is on office 2010, no way I am upgrading him.
I use Office 2013 on two computers and I installed Avery Label maker which I have on my office 2010- on office 2010 it had no problems at all. On the other hand, on office 2013 it totally locked up Office 2013 made it a mess and I had to uninstall the program and manually take out the Avery addons,
When I reinstalled office 2013 pro it now told me that my license was invalid, duh and my login and password to Microsoft where I have it sitting was incorrect. Go on the website I logged into the site fine, sat on the phone with Microsoft 2hours- they had no clue either so they gave me another key to put in which worked- go figure. I never had this problem when I installed office 2010
but actually I like 2013 better even with all its quirks.
