i read somewhere on the site cant find it now that they would begin shipping out in a few days and the party packs would arrive no later than the 10th. considering these are world wide shipments and continential US shipments should arrive within 3 days of being mailed, i'd wager on people recieving copies as early as late next week.

I thought people were going to get the netbook before the parties began...thats a bit of a bummer

Im a confirmed host myself. Got the email this morning saying I'd get my limited edition signature copy of 7 Ultimate. I'm using it as a business promotion, inviting all my customers over to actually use the software and try to get them to move up to 7.

Well, you are lucky. I want to get these people living in the middle of nowhere to realize that Windows 7 rocks and to get rid of their silly computers that have Windows Vista or XP. Things can take a LONG time to change here... everyone is so backwards. I could easily get a few hundred people to buy Windows 7 in my area just by being a host for this launch.

Yes, well and truly over for me, I didn't even get a notification saying "sorry,you are out".

I think the key to getting selected was to set up a party site within a couple of minutes of getting the email about being a finalist. I happened to be at my machine when that email came in and did it immediately and was confirmed as a host within minutes. Then I later received another confirmation email a few days later.
