I don't see a "go back" feature in WLM. This is the feature that erases the last thing you wrote when composing an email. It's quicker than blocking and deleting. I may be blind, but I don't see an icon for it anywhere on the "home" banner. It's on this feature (the two little arrows above) and it's nearly everywhere where you have to compose something, but not in WLM--as far as I can see. Thanks in advance for info or suggestions. Don.

Yes, it works. Thank you stve.

The thing is, I don't know why they don't have it up there on the banner with the rest of the writing stuff. Everything else is there. Outlook Express and WinMail had it. Why drop it out? Is it change just for the sake of change, or are designers required to make a certain number of changes to justify their positions and salaries?

Glad it worked for you I do use WLM but I never visit the site I forward my mail to Opera Mail & read it in the browser so I've no idea why there are no buttons .
Just gone to to Windows Live I'm actually using Hot Mail is that the same as WLM ?
Its Ctrl z to go back & Ctrl Shift z to go forward (redo)
It all looks pretty complicated just to read Mail lots of options but there does not seem to be any buttons you can add.

So does WLM 2009. My understanding is that the "Ribbon" is supposed to expose more features than the old "Menu".

if you mean the undo/re-do arrows, they dont show until you actually compose a message ,the email message window is a separate pop out window that has the undo arrows on the ribbon.

stve... No, I don't use HotMail.

Poohbah... I've gone over the message ribbon with a magnifying glass but I can't find the arrows. Do you have to do something to make them come out? If not, exactly where are they located on the ribbon.

When I checked Hotmail earlier today I was using the browser & never saw the go back button when i was composing a message. Looking at boobah's picture I realized I needed to install the software.
Windows Live Essentials 2011 - Download free Microsoft programs
When I used the Windows Live Mail application the buttons show when you compose a message.

Thanks stve and Boobar. I think I see it now and I retract my complaint with apologies to the designers for my misapprehension. Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to change its color to make it brighter so the arrows will stand out.

My problem is that I'm elderly and my eyesight is not good. It doesn't help that the arrows are on that dark band. Do you

Glad you got it sorted , there is something you can do to make all your programs have more contrast or different colours , change your theme , right click on the desktop & Personalize & play around till you find one that works for you.
