Gentlemen, my 64gb flash drive*** is somewhat recalcitrant. When I paste a folder of pics (50Mb) into it, then unplug it & plug it back into any PC, the folder is there but "no contents" - empty.


*** only problem with this flash. The others work fine.

Sounds like the flash drive is faulty. Don't keep trying to use it, just replace it.

Flash drives are the most unreliable means of storage & should really only be used for transporting data from one place to another, not for long term storage.

Yeah, flash drives have a pretty simple controller and there's no TRIM support. They're not like SSDs. The cells in a flash drive wear out fast with write/delete functions.

I've found that it is a good idea to disconnect a flash drive that I've loaded to before power off. Sometimes, the drive will still be busy even though it is showing no activity. When you try to disconnect, it will tell you to wait awhile. When you are allowed to disconnect, it is now safe to power down.

The flash drive is an expensive Sandisk. It's only on my PC the folder appears empty. The other PC - all is fine. Opens with contents visible.

Can you please restate your problem correctly?
