Probably none is worth using. You need a high-end PC to run even PS2 games, and they'll be bugged or utterly unplayable. I don't even know if it's allowed to discuss this software. It's very closely related to piracy.

I can tell you though that you might be able to play some PS1 / 2 games. I don't know about any xbox / PSP emulators. But xbox 360 and PS3 is not a possibility right now.

You can try PCSX2. It requires at least 2.0Ghz Dual Core and a 6600GT (I think). It comes without the BIOS as sharing the BIOS is illegal. If you have A PS2, you can dump the BIOS into your computer and play PS2 games on your computer (great for a road trip!).

However, obtaining BIOS from sources such as torrents are illegal

I agree its probably not worth it.

Rather than mess around trying to get a stable, working PS emulator, youd likely be better off just buying one.

I mean, you can pick up a used Playstation 1 at a pawnshop for like 20 bucks anymore.

Or even a PS2 for about $40 right from Gamestop.

As little as they cost, I think Id just go that route. Much less headache.

I find most PS1 games run well enough with emulators to be worth the trouble.

Welcome to the official ePSXe website

I find most PS2 games don't run well enough to consider totally playable on my machine but you can try your luck.

PCSX2 Playstation 2 emulator - News

Granted the BIOS is a pain and you'd probably be better off buying a new console if you have the spare cash.

Just downloaded a Gamecube emulator to play some Zelda games. The 64 bit version of Dolphin emulator runs fine on my quad core (though I think the max cores it can use is 2), so it should be alright on your Phenom x2 if you're wanting to play some Gamecube games. And what's even better with Dolphin is a 360 controller is automatically configured and fully usable :D

I'd have brought my Gamecube up to Uni with me, but there's no easy way to get a Gamecube running on a monitor, and there's no room for a TV.

Its been a while since I have used emulators but it all depends on what you want to play.

GBA - Visual Boy Advanced
PS1- ePSXe
N64 - Project64
PSP - JPCSP
SNES- ZSNES

For PS2 and XBox I would personally just go buy a used console. They are $30 each at gamestop last time i checked

And how can a PS3 play Nintendo games?

Actually the PS3 got jailbroken a few months back and the security codes were just released by GeoHot and Team Overflow. Homebrew makers are currently working on using the codes to sign their apps to run on legitiment PS3 firmwares. With the release of Move I personally wouldnt be surprised if someone makes a Wii emulator for the PS3.

Yea, the PS3 got jailbroken, but Sony caught on to it pretty quick and locked any PS3 down that went online while jailbroken.

PC Emulators are completely different to console based emulators :sarc:

As others have mentioned, depending on the console being emulated, they all need different emulators. There aren't any 'one emulates all'

As also mentioned, there are no current ps3/360 emulators due to the 'as yet' unavailable power needed.

As with emulator, ymmv.

The Emulator Zone - Your Source for Emulation! is the site I use to get my emulators (they are good imo). I believe the one at the top of the list for each console is the highest rated. There are emulators for every console besides PS3 and Xbox 360 as mentioned already. For the games you must get, in most cases, ROMs. Just Google the name of the system and then ROMs. For example; gba roms. Good luck.

emulators are legit, that is if you get the systems Bios from the console itself. and you are playing with bought games. (i rip mine) but of course it still can be in the grey.
