This your computer,

Gateway Support - Hornet Micro Tower Desktop Case Specifications

If so you will need a low profile card, and there isn't a whole lot to choose from. Assuming the specs are right it has an AGP slot, so you're looking at something like this,

Newegg.com - ECS N6200A-256DZ GeForce 6200 256MB 64-bit DDR2 AGP 8X Low Profile Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

There is also a ATI HD 3450 in AGP, but I don't think the 180W power supply (unless you have changed it) is going to be up to running it.

Is yours the Mid tower or the Micro tower?

Mid tower can use a full sized card, Micro tower will be a low profile card.

The AGP socket may restrict your choices.

Is this your computer specs and manual?
Gateway E4100 Computer

Your PSU is 180w, this is a bit low for todays graphics cards. You will likely need to upgrade your PSU to use a new graphics card. This will also depend on if you have added any other power consuming devices to your computer. You might be able to find a low power card that will work with your current PSU, but I would start looking at upgrading your PSU.

Check your computer hardware supplier for what cards are available for your system.

Newegg lists these for an AGP Low Profile card

Not a lot of choice, the AH3450 should run Aero in Win7.

You might want to consider putting this graphics card money towards a new computer. You can get a much better card for a PCI Express slot for the same price.

Your going to be limited more to whats available than what will work the best.

If you can varify your PSU and that you need an AGP card, we can give more information.

Can't find any info on your computer at Gateway.

Is it an AGP socket?

PSU rating?

Case size, Full, Mid or Micro Tower?

You will need to check your PSU when trying to add a new graphics card to an older box. They can require a lot of power.

If it's an AGP socket:

New egg AGP graphics cards

Looks like you will be limited to GeForce 7 series or Radeon HD 4000 series.

Let us know your specs so we can give an informed suggestion, without the specs we're just guessing.

Yep. I was helping him in another thread. It's definitely an AGPx8 motherboard with a 7500 AIW in there now. The HD 4000 series will be bottlenecked by his CPU. In other words, it's too much GPU for his system. I recommend HD 3000 series so not to overspend on something not needed. Low end, I recommend Geforce 6200. No power connector needed.

PSU denfinitely a concern for ATI HD series. Check its rating. If power is sufficient, you will need to connect a 6 pin connector to molex connecter from psu for ATI cards. Some AGP cards come with that connector. Some do not.
