Google Chrome problem - Hovering over links

Lately, whenever I hover over a link in Google Chrome on my PC, which is a Hewlett Packard Pavilion p7-1155 that runs on Windows 7, bought in late May 2012, the URL for the link will only appear for approx. a small fraction of a second before disappearing. It won't appear again until I move my mouse's cursor just a tiny bit (while still hovering over the link), but when the URL appears again, it's again for approx. just a small fraction of a second before disappearing again. The process will repeat & continue until I've managed to read the whole entire URL in piecemeal fashion, and the URL will never show itself for more than a small fraction of a second at a time - rather frustrating!

How can I fix this? Anyone at all who may have any ideas whatsoever, please let me know - it'll be greatly well-appreciated; THANKS.

Is it appearing on the bottom status bar or near your cursor?

I tried unchecking the box for usage of hardware acceleration, then re-launched Google Chrome, but unfortunately it didn't make any noticeable difference to me, as the same problem continues to persist as usual. So then I re-checked the box for hardware acceleration and re-launched Google Chrome, and again the problem continues to persist, very unfortunately, just as I expected it would. Thanks anyway for trying to help.

Now, does anyone at all possibly have any other ideas whatsoever? Thanks again for any attempt(s) or effort(s) to help.

Boot your pc in safe mode and see if persists in safe mode (Safe mode with networking), lets start there.

I found your post on a Microsoft form. I searched to see if you possible put this same question elsewhere.
So anyways, I'm having this same issue. My computer is custom made and practically brand new. It doesn't happen with Edge or any other software that I can find, only Chrome. I've searched to see if anybody else is having this same issue, but so far this is the only person I found. I've tried everything I can possibly think of, including updating all drivers and updating Chrome. It's been going on for maybe a month or 2 now. If anybody can figure this thing out, we would appreciate it.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with windows itself. But I also don't think its Chrome???
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled chrome and it didn't do any good. I'm here becuase
this is the only other person that I can tell that has this issue.
For the most part the problem doesn't effect much, but when you have drop down menus on a website,
then it kinda sucks when the menu closes before you can race to click on your selection before the
menu closes.
This can't be "just the way it is" Like some chrome update or something.
