1. Go to Start > Run and type in the following and then press OK: regedit
2. Find the following reg key:

For Vista/Win7: The value of 'ImageState' in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State
For XP: The value of 'AuditInProgress' in HKLM\System\Setup

3. Right click the reg key and select Modify
4. Delete the value then press OK.

Again, modify reg keys only if you're comfortable.

I found this on Google Chrome help. Use it if you want to.......it turns audit mode off

You may want to delete the value. If it's not set, I don't know what to do. I found that poking around on Chrome help.

I'm surprised it won't install. I have installed it on 10-15 systems and never run into that problem.

It's a fabulous browser. Make sure you have the right version. Good luck. You will love it once you get in running. I have never had a problem with it.

I suggest not using chrome for security reasons. From my experience working internet solutions on hundreds of computers, Chrome users computers tend to have more viruses/spyware...mainly because google supports toolbars/bho's directly!
