Google Docs From Desktop

Hi,
is there a way to use Google docs from my desktop? My school is using it a lot now and I would like to be able to use it like a network drive. For free.

I'm sure there are some tools for this somewhere in the google docs helpfiles, but as I cant find it this may help.

Yeah, it's possible.

You will need to download and install Google Desktop: (Google Desktop Download)
And get gadget (Google Doc gadget) for it: (Google Gadgets: Google Docs)

Thanks jay, but there is no way I will use Google Desktop. For me it's the equivalent of ripping out all of my RAM
