Not that I complain....but if that is really possible...why hasn't it been implemented already?
It's not like they all of a sudden invented a new programming language with extended capabilities.

Because hardware acceleration on browsers (Direct2D) is something extremely new and somewhat unpolished to some degree, that's why it's only available on Beta builds, whether it's IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.

I have found pre-builds still have a lot of extra code in them. Often they are better (and slightly buggier) than the previous version, but streamlined and fully tested code is faster and more stable.
