google search question

Hello. I've often wondered how to turn off this "possibly helpful" tool, if it were not such a pain in the butt.
Seems like everytime I go to search for something via google and start to type...it is already trying to read my mind and then starts throwing up suggestions. If I misspell a word in that search and hit say backspace, it will take me outta that google page, and back to where I started my browsing, like the page before. So my question..."how do I turn off, (what I'd call) this search assistants feature"?
I don't want the search engine to throw up possibilities of what I am looking for. Thx, DM

when you start a search and the results screen opens up, there will be a settings icon like a cog wheel to the right of the screen. you can click on that and look for the option for predictive search results. Turn that to "Never show instant results"

No problem

If you are not signed in to any gmail accounts or anything then this setting will be based on cookies. so if you clear your browser cache you will have to set it again. if you set it while you are logged in, then it will keep the setting whenever you are logged in.
