I have been trying to put a google shortcut on my desktop for the benefit of my wife to make it easier for her. I have been to the Google web site, right clicked on the word "Google" and clicked to have a shortcut put on my desktop. All I get is a little square with a logo in it. How do I get the Google globle please?

Regards,
RonBin79

Hi,

You could just search for a suitable image, download it then apply it to the shortcut. Just right-click the internet shortcut and click 'Change Icon.
   Note
You will need some sort of Icon creating software to save the icon file, there are plenty of free 1's out there

Make google a bookmark in your favorites. Make the internet explorer window so you are able to see your desktop, from the bookmark of the google you did, drag it to your desktop, you are then able to re-name it.

Great tip Matthew! Such an easy way to get customized icons without having to use a 3rd party app.
Rep+ to you!
