Got a new pc its working great but its a little slow what should I do

i finally got me a new pc the specs for the older pc which gave me no problems what so ever are listed in the my spec section the specs for the pc that my question is about is listed in the picture below. my problem with the new pc is that when i use the pc to open up programs and things like that sometimes my mouse lags as if the entire unit is lagging although im just opening a program or if i have 2 programs open at ones the mouse starts to lagg all over the screen and im just wondering why would a new pc have signs of sluggishness that my old one did not have when this one has better graphics card and better processor could it be the factory version of windows 7 thats on the machine? Would installing my retail version of windows 7 help due to the fact that it would not download all the extra software that come pre-installed on my new pc. Your cpu is not far from the bottom of the scale for current AMD processors, roughly equivalent in performance to a 2.13 GHz Core 2 duo from about 3 years ago. Not much you can do about the processor, but reducing the number of programs that run automatically would help immensely. There's nothing wrong that a little cleanup of factory installed bloat wouldn't help, followed by stopping and disabling unnecessary services and defragmenting your HDD..
take a look at task manager, msconfig and services.msc on my laptop, then compare to yours

madtownidiot i just got this pc yesterday if you say my amd is no better than one that was made 3 years ago should i take the pc back and get something else that will do what i want it to do i still have time to exchange it if the processor is that old then not exchanging the pc for another one would hurt me later on down the road

first take a look at the number of processes you have running task manager. then go into msconfig, click the startup tab, uncheck everything except the display driver, your touchpad driver, whatever antivirus program you're running, and anything else listed as a driver. then restart your computer and how much difference it makes in task manager. It should start much more quickly and be more responsive. Your laptop should be much faster than mine, (4 year old dell with a 2GHz core 2 and 2GB RAM) I did notice you had photoshop running in one of your screenshots. That will lag computers far faster than yours.
As for services, that will depend on what you're using your computer for. I got rid of windows media services, remote desktop services, home group services

ok i deselected everything within the start up tab that was not needed i still get the same sluggish slow performance when i open up programs and when im in photoshop

here's a good guide for tweaking services. I used it myself. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Service Configurations by Black Viper
another thing you should do is uninstall programs you're not planning to use, then download ccleaner. install it but make sure to uncheck all the options except for a desktop shortcut and a start menu shortcut.. and make sure the google app doesn't sneak in.
Then download mydefrag and select the system disk monthly option. After that runs you'll notice an improvement

thanks i appreciate it ill do it now and if it does not improve ill just take it back to the store and one more thing if i do end up taking it back is it possible for me to look up about 3 diffrent laptops on the internet i plan on buying and get you took look at the specs for all 3 and see which ones better my old laptop crapped out on me and the company could not fix it so they let me choose which one i wanted and i choose this one i dont know any thing about graphic cards and processors and that mainly what i need i know alot of the basic things though

68 processes would be about 20 more than necessary. I've managed to get mine to 35-40 on average by a lot of trial and error, and more than one system crash.
Photoshop will slow your computer down whether it's running or not. It's a huge program, most of which is dedicated to the "it doesn't work when it can't phone home" feature. you can actually uncheck every item in msconfig start up tab and all your programs and hardware will still work.. did you click apply before you restarted the computer?
