Got my new SSD installed

in my asus laptop. had to have a local to install it and he didn't wipe clean the old HD that's now in the second bay. not happy with that. you say take it back to him well i don't want to give it up again for a week.
can someone tell me how to do in simple terms so i can do it myself?

To wipe clean the previous HDD just format it in my computer. If it isn't recognised as a drive then allocate it a letter in device manager.
