Graphic Card not Recognized

I've been trying to install a new graphics card into my desktop. However, when I installed it, the computer doesn't recognize it. Meaning there's no response from the desktop besides the fan moving.

Nothing is shown or changed in the Device Manager.

When I tried to install the drivers it'll say "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit". The times I tried installing the drivers from the site, it'll reinstall the integrated one.

When I try to connect the monitor to the card, I get a blank screen.

I tried the BIOS and uninstalling the current drivers. The BIOS doesn't have any option to disable the on-board graphics.

Everything I tried so far have been useless, the desktop won't recognize it. I've seen a lot of people with a similar problem and have been able to solve it while I was searching google. Off those people, I tried many methods. NOTHING CHANGED. It's as if I never install the card to begin with.

Desktop: EL1352G-01w
Graphics Card: Nvidia GT 430
Motherboard: EL1352G (Apparently custom by emachines)

Maybe this desktop wasn't built to take a graphics card.

Hello ZeroKelvin. Welcome to the Forum.

Well, I just happen to be playing with an E-Machines box that someone threw out right now. So I checked the BIOS and you are correct - there is no setting to disable the on board graphics chip.

If I have time today I will look and see if there is a jumper on the motherboard to disable the chip. No promises! (Gotta get a contract done).

Good timing.

I just took a look and I do not see any jumper on the motherboard that might be associated with the on-board graphics chip.

This board has a slot for a video card also, but with no setting in bios and no jumper on the board it sure looks like the folks at EMachines do not expect anyone to upgrade their boxes.

If I find anything new I'll post back, but I think you are out of luck.

using the onboard card, I went into Control Panel/System/Hardward/Device Manager... right clicked on the onboard video and selected disable.

The system asked if I was sure, I clicked yes, and then selected to reboot. After shut down but before it could restart I turned the computer off, installed the new card, plugged the monitor into it and it was finally detected.

Next I installed the new PCI cards software, and set up the display settings to my liking, and all is good now.

Thanks for the attempt but it didn't work. I don't even get the reboot option when I disabled it.
