I just installed w7 ult 64bit,clean install with OEM OS. Will only recognize 1 of my graphic cards. Code 12 error. Like I said, clean install,no resources to shut down to make room for the 2nd card.Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have SLI activated in your BIOS?

Did you install the drivers for your graphics card?

You can disable your floppy drive and serial ports. If this will allow more rescourses then could possibly work. Does your second card even appear in device manager?

Yes.SLI is activated in the BIOS. Drivers are installed.Card shows up in Device manager, but is yellow tagged. When I try to update the 2nd card,it tells me the best driver is already installed, but I cannot use it till I free up more resources. I have approx.45 services running, and CPU at about 3% when I do system check. Floppy drive not installed, but I disabled in BIOS anyway.

Sounds like you're using Window's default drivers and not the drivers made by your card's manufacturer? You need those for SLI.

If you fill in your specs we could point you in the right direction.

I updated my system specs.Sorry bout that,, I am kinda new at this forum setup.
I agree that win7 loaded default drivers,but I went to Manufacturer site,and DL 64 bit drivers,and I saved them to C drive.When I update drivers,I selected search computer for drivers,pointed it to c drive,and I seen it load the driver,,asked for restart,and when boot completed,same problem,only reading one card.

I'd check to see if the drivers you got are the same as the latest provided by nvidia?

I've never run SLI, but don't you have to go into the driver control panel after they're installed and tell it you want to run SLI?

@ Fumz yes you have to go into the Nvidia control panel and enable SLI. Here the problem seems that the second card is not being reconzied correctly. Try this just to see, change the cards slot positions and see if you get the same error. Trying to see if the slot might be the problem. And I know this is repetitive but both cards are the same? You have the bridge on?" If they need auxiliary power it's plugged in? They are enabled in the bios, and control panel. If this is correct and you change the cards position and still get the same problem Then try removing the card that installs and see if the troubled one will install in the slot that is giving you problems. If it works then try plugging in the other card and lets see what the outcome is. Thanks. Fabe

@thefabe. Ok,I tried what you suggested.I switched PCIE ports with both cards, ran with one card in either port, and other combinations, and what I see is that both cards are fine, both slots are good, but as soon as I bridge them, the outcome remains the same.I would like to point out that I did a clean install from windows XP Pro. I had read somewhere that upgrading from Vista to windows 7 was the way to go because there were drivers in the Vista OS needed to upgrade to win7.Whether that is true or not,I dont know, but should be of no concern to me as I wiped my HD clean and installed OEM Windows 7. All the proper drivers from manufacturer website are installed, I just seem to have hit a brick wall with this.

No a clean install was the best way to go. We have to be overlooking something. Let me do some looking around and see what I can come up with. Fabe
