Graphics card after installation

Yh the prblem is idk where the onboard control for the integrated graphics control is and im not doing the idiot way where some idiot got a small screwdriver and bashed it off in bios i was on integrated peripherals what will i be looking for ?

It should be in the bios settings. When you boot up hit the delete key until it boots into the bios menu. From there look for a setting for your video or pci settings.
It should be under PnP/PCI configuration.

I did that i changed it from pci to pcie slot still isnt working

Prior to getting this card were you always running the onboard graphics?

NO my gtx 580 worked fine then when i installed windows 7 it bugged off

All i have in my device manager is standard vga graphics adapter

Try removing the card and reseating it while it's off of course. See if Win 7 plug and play will detect it. This is a strange one.

Ive already done that to ive destaticed my self and while holding the card i destaticed that to i cleaned the gold pins while non static of course. Ive put it back in again 2 times actually still nothing.

Well do you have another video card you can try or a another desktop you can put the GTX 580 into to verify that the card is still functional?
You're original post says when you tried to install the driver it fails. Did you try running a windows repair. Maybe the graphics driver got corrupted somehow.

You never did answer how many power connections you card has. Mine has two and it needs both. Could you also let us know what the color and location of the slot you have your card plugged into the mother board.

Try this as a shot in the dark. Take out the add-in card, powerup with the monitor attached to the onboard graphics.
Power off and reinstall the GTX580, attach the monitor to IT, and power up again. Rerun WEI assesment after Windows installs a driver.

You never asked my how many power cables are tuned into it and the answer is 2 and its in the first graphic slot.

Well folks 2 and 2 is not adding up to 4. Their is something missing. Have you changed anything else in your computer besides the new card? Does your new card have two connections for power and are you using both? Still need to know what power supply you have.
I have no way of knowing what you do or do not know. That is why I asked the question.

The fact that he couldn't update the driver makes me think the os has been corrupted where the driver is installed. And he said he updated from vista to win 7 and this problem began. And the card was working before. I think he'd be better off installing Win 7 from a fresh format or try to do repair install to correct the corrupted driver. I think we've ruled out the hardware as a problem but noway to verify since he doesn't have another pc to try the card on.
