graphics card broken please help

Hey guys I'm in a pretty bad situation right now. My graphics card has died on the computer I share with my brother. It seems to work fine until I run a game that uses graphics. I've tried plugging it out, and plugging it back in and cleaning the dust, updating graphics driver, etc but it's not working out.

it will just freeze and little random objects pop up on the screen and the monitor dies (but the computer is still running).

What brand card and can you RMA it? Does it it work in safemode? You should get furmark and see what it says your temps are when running the basic test. Sounds like your card needs whats called reflowed. You only want to attempt this if you have no other options as it requires you to take off the heatsink and bake your card.

hi try the card on another computer. remove the card and use the onboard graphics does that work? if the card not working in another computer then it's probably time for a new one unless the card is still under warranty if so rma the card.

Yes that card will work, to make your onboard work you need to pull out the current gpu and then plug your video into the dvi, hdmi, or vga port on the back of your motherboard. EDIT: what PSU do you have?

I have 80 plus certified corsair hx series HX 1050 - 80 - plus GOLD certified (Dual/triple/quad SLI ready - 1050 watts)

Damn, that's over kill for the rig that's in your profile. You could get something like a 960, 970 (gpu not PSU) if you wanted, you're not going to buy that one you linked for that crazy price of 800 right?
