Hi guys,

I have a GTX 285 and it's running hot (60C when idle, 80+ in games). I have checked the fan and it's working fine. What can I do to make it run cooler? Add a GPU fan? or any other suggestions please.

If you want to lower the GPU temperature, a more effective way may be to increase the ventilation over your entire case.

How do you ventilate your case? If you lower the ambient temperature inside the case, the GPU temp would drop accordingly.

Hi guys,

I've played with third-party graphics card coolers in the past. I have concluded that they are usually a waste of money and time. In particular, finding one that gives improved cooling for the VRAM is difficult. Perhaps things have improved since the last time I tried it (8800 GTX), but I wouldn't hope for much.

The 285 is expected to run hot. (I don't recall where it self-throttles, but I believe it's 120C+.)
