Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5920 Laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
My laptop doesn't start up properly, it gets to the login screen on windows, and the screen has black dots running across, and the login page is pushed up into the top corner of the screen. However, if I boot my laptop into safe mode, it runs fine. I clicked on the icon in my icon tray saying "Fix Issues" and it came up with this report to send to Microsoft

Usually when I leave my laptop a few hours, and come back it works fine, but I have left it at least 24 hours now, and it still has this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Before spending money on a card, make sure it is not the driver
Go to search
type device manager
Look for any yellow warning markers by the graphics driver. If none just update the driver.

Nvidia bumpgate that affected most if not all of their 8xxx series of laptop GPU's possibly,

Not sure what of anything Acer did in regards to it, but if that is what it is (and from what you are describing it certainly does) I would contact Acer and see what they say. Probably come back that it is too late to do anything, but you never know.

Also if that is what it is, I am pretty sure that those GPU's were integrated into the motherboard. If so then there id no way of changing it short of a replacement motherboard.
