I'm on my second NVIDA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card in 3 years and it's starting to act strange like the first one did before crapping out.

Do the newer graphics cards work OK with WIN 7 Pro 64bit? I'm assuming they should be backwards compatible, right?

I'd like to try something other than NVIDA this time around so if anybody has any suggestions on a card that is comparable to the NVIDA GeForce GTX 970 please let me know

I'm leaning towards the MSI Gaming Radeon RX 570 but I'm open to other suggestions

Hi Rockrz,

Do the newer graphics cards work OK with WIN 7 Pro 64-bit? I'm assuming they should be backwards compatible, right?

I think for your own piece of mind and to be completely confident that they will work you will need to research what OS they are compatible with on the Internet.

I hope this helps!

Who makes the GTX 970 that you own? I just wouldn't buy that brand any more.

There is no reason that the GTX 970 should not be compatible with Win 7 x64. Many forum users are using them as well as the 1070 with no issues. I think you just got a bad card.
