I can't find a solution to my problem because I have a quad core desktop that worked with my EVGA GTX 470 for a bit until I had my fourth power supply die. I finally fixed the short and I bought a new GPU power connector. Now it is the old Standard VGA Graphics Adapter problem except I haven't been able to fix it. I can't install the Nvidia drivers because I "don't have" compatible hardware. Help would be appreciated.

Can you expand on this a bit more?

I had a short somewhere and the power supply kept on giving out. Now I found out that one of the GPU cable had two wires popping out. That tends to be a problem.

Somewhere?

Perhaps if you were to just tell us everything, you might not have to buy a 5th power supply?

I found the short, it was two wires hanging out of one of my two GPU power supply cables. People have had this problem before, but it usually is with laptops.
