Solved Graphics card not working

I installed an AMD Radeon HD 6450 today and when i booted my computer up my sreen was blue from the getgo. When I tried to install a driver for the new graphics card, it didnt detect the program or OS or the graphics card. The imbedded graphics card also isnt disabled. The catalyst AMD driver program doesnt install also for some reason. Nothing is going my way.


UPDATE: The blue screen issue was resolved, but the rest of the problem still applies.

Welcome to the forums.

Do you see anything on the screen at all? Like the bootup logos or anything?

You'll probably have to turn off the integrated graphics before you can use the 6450 graphics card, or install the drivers.

A little more detail in your system specs would help, too. Like the model of your motherboard/processor. It will make helping you a lot easier.

No bootup logos and i disabled my integrated processer, but to no avail. The drivers dont install for some reason, when i dled the driver that would detect my graphics card and install the right drivers for me, it didnt detect anything. The catalyst amd software also doesnt lanch or install correctly

1. Make sure that the monitor cable is plugged into the new graphics card. If so, do you have a picture on the screen?
2. Can you boot into Windows?
3. Where did you get the driver detector program from?
4. Where did you get the Catalyst driver package from?
5. Does the computer make any extra beeps when it boots up?

1. What monitor cable? I put the graphics card into a slot in my tower which was on the motherboard, and the monitor cable is connected to my tower.
2. Yes i can.
3. From the AMD website.
4.AMD website.
5.No it does not.

1. What port on the tower is the monitor cable connected to? The motherboard's connector, or the new graphics card?

Have you tried to run the Catalyst installer as Administrator? By right clicking on the installer and choosing "Run as Administrator"? That might help it work. I'm not sure why the detector software didn't pick up the new card...

By the way, how did you resolve the blue screen problem that you had?

Okay, so I solved the problem, but I am still getting no signal from my monitor when i boot in my computer. I know it is because of the new graphics card. Will I have to upgrade my BIOS?

UPDATE: I upgraded the BIOS, but still no signal from my monitor

I Solved everything and thanks for the help. Turns out the monitor cable was not connected to the graphics card. There was a blue screen because the monitor cable was not plugged in hard enough to the motherboard. Thanks a lot man, now I can play new games that I couldnt have run before.
