Hi,
I just cleaned out my computer of all dust and when I reattached all the cables the graphics card would run really fast along with other stuff running fine, then eventually shut down. The monitor would not turn on either or rather not display anything because of the graphics card. This never happened before and was working completely fine before I started cleaning, I don't think I broke anything aside from maybe part of a fan (Long story) but I don't see how that could affect the graphics card. Some things I have tried doing to see if it fixes it:
- Changing to the other PCI Express port.
- Changing the graphics card to an older one.
- Changing the cables.
- Unplugging and replugging the power cables many times.
- Tried unplugging different fans to see if that changed it.

All of these still ended up with the same problem, it is pissing me off as I need the computer urgently for some documents.
Any help me greatly appreciated.

Were you properly grounded while working on the PC?

I think so... But if I wasn't no way to change that now... Could it have screwed over my computer? and is there anyway to actually fix it or get it to work?

I know how to get into event viewer and device manager but those require you to actually be able to log on... I just turn on my computer graphics card goes crazy and everything else runs fine (Inside Case), monitor shows nothing and just says "No Signal".

Try removing the graphics card and see if your computer will start up using just the standard VGA adapter.

If it does, it looks like you may need to replace your graphics card.

I'll be shutting down now.

I'm sure someone else will be here soon to continue to help you.

Well I think you can rule out that option because earlier I tried an old graphics card still with the same problem and if I do remove graphics card do I need to connect the DVI cable to anywhere on the Motherboard.

In that case, you may have a motherboard problem.

How careful were you when you cleaned the system? Did you make sure you were grounded with an anti-static wrist strap first?

I don't have an anti-static wrist strap but my whole house is wooden pretty much and I touch the steel on my case. Some progress I guess is that my graphics card isn't going ballistic each time I start going normal speed however there is still no image on the monitor and also my CPU fan doesn't seem to be working now.

If you now suspect your CPU, you need to take your laptop in for a checkup, unless you feel inclined to carry out a self-repair, but before you start you need to establish what the problem is.

I'd definitely go for the motherboard so it's decision time. Get it checked out or try and repair it yourself - it's your call.

Well I don't really know which part to suspect because a few hours ago before I cleaned it, it worked fine but now all the fans (aside from CPU fan) and hard drive start up but nothing happens on the screen of the monitor.

Also there is no beep from the motherboard when I start it... Could this mean the motherboard is dead?

Yes, it could be.

You really need go get it checked out by your local repairer rather than spend money when you're not sure what the problem is.

However, with no CPU and no sign of life from the motherboard that's the first thing you need to investigate.

Well I already sent a request to a local computer tech group... So see what happens, one question if the motherboard is indeed dead. Does that mean I will need to reinstall windows ?

Not necessarily if the HDD is still good and is a retail copy unless the its like a OEM OS that's bound to the motherboard which would mean it would only work with the same replacement of a motherboard from the same manufacture.

Besides the DVI connection, your motherboard will have a VGA connection? Connect a cable with VGA connectors from the motherboard to the monitor.

Then reboot the system with ghapics card removed. The system will now switch to default VGA. At which you should now have video.

If there is no video you may have a bad motherboard, as Seavixen32 suggested.
