Graphics card sizes

I have 2 x Sapphire HD 5770's. I need to switch to an Nvidea 3D surround graphics card with support for 3 monitors. The card cannot be longer than 33cm/330mm or 13" long. I would also like it to out perform my current cards. If any one knows of such a card then please let me know. I have looked but either come up against no support for 3 monitors or the card is too long. My motherboard only supports Crossfire and not SLI but it has a 16X PCI-e slot.

More than 2 monitors on any Nvidia card at this time requires two cards (not counting any Quadro cards that may support more than 2). SLI is not required for this sort of thing, but if you want to use 3 monitors at a time for the equivalent of AMD's Eyefinity then SLI is required,

Have to say I am gutted! I have 3 monitor support for ATI Eyefinity on this HD 5770 setup and wanted to get 2 more LGW2363D monitors for 3D surround. So I would need an SLI motherboard as well to run two Nvidea cards to have the setup I want?

OK! If I totally forget 3 displays,(Changing Motherboard, RAM, and case to make it worthwhile is far to costly and not possible any time soon), What would be the cards that would suit my needs for a single 3D setup?

Thanks for quick reply. I have 120Hz monitor 3D capable, But that is it. I am just restricted for space as far as the graphics card goes. I have a crossfire setup with 2 better than average cards and would like an Nvidea card which will fit in my case but will out-perform my current setup. Then I will ebay my crossfire cards and get the glasses. It's just that the top end nvidea cards seem to be 40cm/400mm and thats like putting a snooker table in my rig. I just need a card to consider an upgrade as well as making me 3D capable.

Since you are running AMD 1100T I suggest you upgrade your board to the new 990FX boards which not permit the use of Nvidia cards in SLI and then you will be ready for Bulldozer when AMD finally gets off their duffs.

As for the cards I highly recommend you go with a pair of 560Ti cards they will serve you nicely.

Thanks for the reply, a motherboard upgrade is a possibillity at some point as this 1 was just a stepping stone from my AMD 64 X2 6400. But new board means new ram and I was just hoping for a solution to the 3D problem for now. GTX 560 ti will fit in my case nicely (22.9 cm), and isnt too pricey or too shabby in performance./ So I will probably get one of these for now getting me 3D ready and then getting another after upgrading my motherboard. I was going to go for a Crosshair IV Extreme which has the 990FX chipset, supports Crossfire and SLI Via the Hydro chip. Just need a new case as it has 8 expansion ports and my case supports 7. The only problem is that the desk where my PC lives is another space problem. It only has room for mid towers so all seems against me size wise.

I just found this one too. MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr III.(MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC - Graphics adapter - GF GTX 570 - PCI Express 2.0 x16 - 1.25 GB GDDR5 - DVI, HDMI ( HDCP ): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories) again it will fit the case, is pricey but should be a decent upgrade for my current setup.
Just went over the numbers and £ for £ I would be better off with 2 Asus GTX 560 TIs

This graphics card has a Display port where others I have seen have 2 X DVI and 1 mini or standard HDMI. ATI cards are only 3 monitor capable due to the display port, Perhaps this how this card can run 3 monitors. Display port also has dual channel support so 3D all around would be possible if all is correct.

I wouldn't be counting on it being able to run 3 monitors until you contact EVGA and confirm whether it does or not.

So I guess SLI is indeed a factor in 3 monitors.
That being said this is a sweet card, I don't feel like it's a compramise and would suit all my requirements.

No, you won't be disappointed with EVGA, they are a good company. I however, am a believer in fans, but I have never owned a GPU with a plastic shell... maybe it works better?
