I've owned more nVidia cards than ATI, but if this is to be believed:

yes this is good to do they supply the the smaller bracket for it?

Asus ENGT430 or GeForce GT 430

For this card Asus is very specifically going after the HTPC market. The ENGT430 is a half-height card with a low-profile bracket included, and for cooling it uses a decently sized heatsink with a particularly tiny fan we measure at 36mm. The heatsink does stick up some, so the card is explicitly a double-slot card and you’ll want to make sure you have space for it.

it must be a bit confusing for you wally1342 the most important things to consider

1. will it fit in your machine ok (so air can move around it etc)
2. will it be power by the board (no psu connection required)
3. directx 11 support
4. better memory than what you have now
5. price comparison for upgrade

I have a Dell 580S too. The bar across it is no problem plus you have to remove it anyway. 1 screw and lift straight up, it just fits in a slot on the other side. The top rim under the bar will then swing out to the back, allowing access to the expansion slots. Dell sold me 2 graphics cards that would not fit, so don't pay any attention to them. On top of the bracket of the graphics card is a cutout, it has to be on the left side of the bracket or it will not fit, it has to fit around a screw. The bar you swung out from the top bracket will swing back - that's what holds the card's bracket in place. You will also find that there are NO POWER PLUGS inside that case. I have looked several times for psu's that will fit and have never found one. You will see that it is quite small and is an odd size. Hope this helps.

No, that is on another computer I built. I also have the Dell 580s with the i3 CPU. I do not have a graphics card in the Dell. No power problems. There are no available power connections if you try to install a card that requires a power connection.

if you go for a card that does not require psu power and powered by the board you will be ok mine is powered by the board and i run 2 lcd/led monitors and it has never had problems. my software monitor with the ccc (catalyst control center) for the card show it never maxing out in fact it never goes over 50% on any of the meters.
