Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

As it's a brand new machine you need to contact Dell who will repair or replace your computer while it's under warranty.

It sounds very much as though the video is the problem.

Ah, that would explain it.

The 16-bit architecture will not run under a 64-bit operating system.

Thanks for letting us know. Enjoy your new computer!

Ummm, that's not what he's saying. The OP is saying that he reduced his 32-bit color settings to 16, which means he is now running with drastically reduced color capability and inferior video quality.

To the OP...that is not an appropriate solution. Your computer has a problem and needs to be addressed with Dell. If you are under warranty, it would be ridiculous to not get this fixed NOW.

Did you get the drivers from Dell's site? You should not have had to install anything on a brand new system. Was the problem there before you "updated" the drivers? Perform a recovery on your system to put it back the way it was from the factory!

MacGyvr, thanks for spotting my error. Another case of seeing what you want to see rather than what you do see.

Yes, I agree entirely; contact Dell as the problem needs to be fixed while your computer is under warranty.

The error did occur after I updated the driver from dell site. Let me try a system restore.. I did create a restore point before upgrading the driver..
