GRUB loading stage 1.5 error 17

I had Backtrack and Windows 7 in separate partitions, i just deleted the partion of Backtrack in Windows 7 using diskmgmt. When i restarted the computer it is showing
GRUB loading stage 1.5
error 17

Please help me.

Well, when you have 2 operating systems on two different partitions, they both need to be able to boot. So, they will merge their boot files. So, when one operating system goes down (or in your case gets deleted), the other one will not boot. The only way to fix this I think is to insert in your Win 7 DVD. Boot from it, and click repair my computer. This should repair it.

It's been a long time since I had multi-boot system with Linux. But I seem to remember grub storing a backup of the MBR before overwriting it. Be that as it may, the link above should show how to reset the mbr to default.
