GTA 4 Still Won't Install

I continue getting a 0xC000005 error every time I try to emulate the setup for Vista or XP and I can't install without it because it says it is not able to install on this OS (Windows 7).

I'm using Build 7000 by the way.

go to the Disc 1 .....redistributable.....run the vcredist_x86

under windows 2000 compatibility mode and run the setup again.

Solution

1. Set registry to this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
"CSDVersion"=dword:00000300

2. Restart

3. Install (without any compatibility modes)

4. Set registry to this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
"CSDVersion"=dword:00000000


5. Restart
