Hi

I was thinking of buying a GTX 580 Gainward Phantom 3GB graphics card but I am not too sure if it would be compatible with my graphics card. I was hoping someone here could help me out.

Here are the specs of my motherboard: TH55B HD :: Motherboard :: BIOSTAR

And here are the specs of the graphics card: Products :: Gainward GeForce® GTX 580 3072MB "Phantom"

It says the power connector of the graphics card is 8-pin and 6-pin, would this fit on my motherboard or would I have to get some sort of extension?

Also any idea if this graphics card is any good? I did some research and it got good reviews so I guess it isnt bad.

Thanks

The motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot, so the card will fit. This,

has nothing to do with the motherboard and everything to do with the power supply. If your power supply doesn't have the necessary connections (can still be done with adapters if enough free molex connectors) or sufficient wattage, then you will run into problems. Might help if you said what power supply you currently have.

Hi thanks for the reply. I am actually planning on getting a new PSU as the one i currently have is not 600W which is what is recommended for the graphics card.

Is there any PSU that you would recommend me getting?
