Solved GTX460 Blocking DP67BG Southbridge Heatsink.

According to AIDA64, Southbridge temp varies between 75c-90c

is this normal? any advice?

My southbride is running at 42C and thats about 107F. So yours is running very very warm.

I would check more on your general ambient temp of your system as well. It suggests you aren't venting enough heat. Simply 'blocking' a heat sink would not be the sole reason your chipset heat seems abnormally high, but simply the fact that if the inside is relatively 'warm' in general will make it difficult for a heat sink to radiate. And I am also assuming you don't have a fan blowing directly or on the heatsink itself, so this suggests you need more air flow inside the machine to vent waste heat.

I have 3x12cm + 1x22cm fans cooling my system, normally everything is around 35c anyway i tried to slightly push the graphic card off the heatsink and noticed that SB temp fell to 46c-50c but still warm compared to my system.
