I still have mine. The first "real" program I wrote was when I was in 4th grade using my dad's Tandy laptop. It copied data using the acoustic coupler modem with a CRC and would retry on failures.

For some reason I had it in my mind it handled ten bits, but it was only six.
Can you get a negative WEI? It would complement DarkAssasin's negative CPU usage ...

It did not need one. Remote query and messaging was integrated, but additional comm controllers interfaced via byte-multiplexer channels on "bus and tag" cable pairs.
BTW, that thing operated at a max of 1.7 MIPS and only a few were configured with the ungodly main memory of 8 MB. The base model had 8 kb.
