Hi blitzlamagawa94, Welcome to the forums, Looking at the specs they both appear to be equal with the VS3 slightly on top , what I find strange about them both is they are stated as being win 8 ready but with only USB2.0 support

specs says **DDR3 1600 with Intel® Ivy Bridge CPU, DDR3 1333 with Intel® Sandy Bridge CPU. **
i have 3rd gen i series and i having a problem about buying ram. i was planned to buy ddr3 1333 mhz. then when i read that. i got so confused. even the ram 1333 and 1600 is almost the same price

blitzamagawa94,
Welcome to SF. Go the ASRock's site for both mobo's and see what ram modules have been tested and passed. If it was me I would for sure look to a mobo with USB 3.0 and could support faster ram speeds. Looking at the second posted mobo ASRock shows much faster modules working with this board.

ASRock > H61M-VS3

i already saw the memory specification i just became curious about both MoBo Product Specifications:MEMORY i saw the quotation **DDR3 1600 with Intel® Ivy Bridge CPU, DDR3 1333 with Intel® Sandy Bridge CPU. **

other people said. even if u have ivy bridge i series I can use ddr3 1333mhz memory. but the MoBo specification its not gonna work >.<

Where are you getting that idea that 1333mhz isn't going to work. Also if you can get 1600mhz for the same money then that's a no brainer as they say. But if I was building this rig I would see what kind of a deal you can get on 1866-2133 G.Skill and then just hit the XMP in the bios and move on with the parade.

You are right an i3 sandybridge (32 nm) only supports ram upto 1333Mhz
i3 ivybridge (22 nm) supports ram upto 1600Mhz thats not to say 1600 wont work on the sandybridge but may only run at 1333

Seeing as you are going with an ivybridge processor you should also consider going with an ivybridge era mobo like B75 or H77 chipset they are only slightly above the H61 in price range but will give you USB 3.0 and sata III (6 gbps) on the chipset which is much more desirable and will give you much better transfer speeds especially if you are going to put an SSD or 2nd HDD now or later or intend to use external storage devices

i guess my problem is solved. . no more asrock H61M-VS R2.0 and H61M-VS3 asrock MoBo
i will choose p8h61m lx3 plus r2.0 clients on computer shop doesn't need 3.0 usb.

i just need high end MoBo that until 5 years later it can support next gen videocard, processor, and ram

WITH low price >.<
