Halo 2 (PC) can never connect :'(

I swear, problems are attracted to me.


Anyways..

I installed Halo 2 (PC) and whenever it attempts to download an update from within the game, it fails. I downloaded everything I could outside of the game but yeah.. it keeps giving me this.

Any suggestions? Bing and Google didn't help me much.

try downloading the gfwl client. install it, and not in the game but the client program itself, let it update. that game is pain n the a$$ to get working right.

Lol, yeah I noticed. I just want to get the remainder of the achievements I've yet to unlock (23/41 currently)

is it trying to update the game? or the live ui thing? cuz if it's the UI, try another game. i used fallout3 to do that but any gfw game will do (should, anyway). for the game itself, try a good old fashioned manual patch.

Only other PC games I have are..

Halo 1 and... Fable: TLC (both not LIVE)

Will try the patch though.

I still find it odd that it can connect to tell me there is an update, but suddenly doesn't like the connection when it comes time to download the update. =| Microsoft better not mess up Halo 3 (PC) (is there ever going to be one?)

theoretically yes. halo 3 is rumored to be pc-bound by next year... hope so, it looks fun as hell.
