Hi

Hi

not sure what my issue is but have a GA-P43-ES3g with an intel quad core and 8gb ram. Windows 7 pro64 installed.

when instaling the system I had to remove 4gb of ram otherwise it froze on extracting files.

It now has 8gb and whenever the PC is left static the screen sver cuts in and as I would expect - move the mouse nad the system works however if I leave it for say an hour the scrennsaver is dead as is the mouse and keyboard. I then have to unplug and start from scratch.

I'm now in the loop MS say hardware and ....

I've tried in W7 disabling power saving but to no avail. Would appreciate any ideas?

thanks

Ian

http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?action=reporttm;topic=2774.0;msg=17892if for any reason I leave my PC unattended the screensaver cuts in and can be disabled by use of mouse etc. If however I leave the unit longer the screensave stops and the pc freezes. It requires unplugging from mains to reboot.

I've gone into power saving and set it to never send the pc to sleep or turn of the monitor.

Its a brand new quad core unit based on a gigibyte GA-P43-ES3g board with 1gb video card (Asus), 8gb Ram ( 4 x 2gb slots) and windows 7 pro 64bit.

Would appreciate any ideas at all.

Brand new installed yesterday after much grief by removing 4gb of ram for the install

thanks

Ian

Hi

I wish I had a blue screen of death but the whole PC just freezes. I've disabled all bios power saving and windows sleep and screen saver mode.

If I have the clock gadget on the screen then the second hand stops, mouse pointer disapears and keyboard does not function.

It needs a power off leave for 60 secs and a reboot to function.

driving me up the proverbial

cheers

Ian

Still follow the BSOD Posting Instructions. It provides a lot of info helpful for solving all crashes, not just BSODs.
