Hard drive cannot detect without pressing a key in boot up process

Hi all,

I installed Windows 7 32 bit ultimate edition to my acer notebook today. After taking my laptop to my office it didnt boot up. Taking so long to detect a hard drive. But when i press any key, it detect hardisk and boot up properly.. pls help me my problem.

Sounds like a BIOS issue. If you can load up the BIOS and check to make sure that your HDD is recognized and set to first boot.

Try removing the screws and slide the drive out, then firmly slide it back in place to be certain it's properly seated... (Power Off)

can you take snapshot on your BIOS ?? and please fill your system specs.

Do you have any USB devices connected to the laptop? Are there any devices in device manager that have a yellow exclamation mark? Have you checked the boot order in the BIOS?

Tks for the replies. I hav checked the boot order in Bios and no USB device and yellow exclamation mark in Device manager too. My note book is Acer 4730Z. I ve tried according to the above suggestions. The problem is stilled unsolved. Pls help me once more.

Also if your laptop has NO floppy drive, make sure that is marked as disabled in the Bios boot order.
