hi all,
i hope someone can help me out, i am a newbie to all this so bare with me.
my hard drive failed over a month ago but i managed to do a system image with win7 to my new 2tb internal hard drive. i cannot get the image recovery to work as i says "no image can be found on hard disk". i am at a loss from there. I have tried and cried over this as its driving me mad as i have no pc.

just to add really that the system image is on my new hard drive (2tb internal). i use the boot dvd and i get a far as "repair my computer" click on it, sometimes i get message saying not compatable with this version of windows other times it lets me on to next bit, then says no image can be found on hard drive. if i go through the load drivers i can see my hard drive with items on it. ie windowsbackup and others. again i am at a loss with this, any help would be greatful.

Do you have 2 new drives one for the system image & one for the system image to Restore to.

1 internal 2tb (windows image on), and 1 2tb external.

The system image would need to be on the external HDD to restore to the internal HDD.

The Windows system imaging files are not happy about being moved from one HDD to other HDD.
But you can try.

You could try cloning the internal HDD to the external HDD.

How to clone your old drive to a new drive.
Solved How to Migrate OS to new Hard disk.
The thread is about using Paragon Backup & Recovery 12, which is being updated to Paragon 14.

A screenshot giving all details of all drives, as seen by Windows Disk Management, would give a better idea of your situation.

yes you maybe right but how does one do that without OS?. all i can do is use the install dvd, and only gives me install or system image recovery. as image cannot be used, i dont want a clean install on hd as image would be wiped. ideally i would like to put system image on external and install image to new internal as theog mentioned but sounds like more trouble doing that. unsure what to do tbh. thanks for replying
