hard drive full but can't find what's taking so much space

Hi,
I have a 465 gb hd that is down to 41% free space. I've run treesize and the largest files/folders only add up to 70 gb. My os, etc. take up less than that.
I've run antiviruses, cleaners, disk cleanup and still no good. I moved 39 gbs from internal to external hd but that only registered a 2 gb decrease in free space. This does not make any sense.
My pc's running so slowly I can't do anything...files take minutes to open, pages in my browser the same--gmail took 6 minutes to load this morning. I have deadlines to meet and am at my wits end.
