Hi everyone

for the last 2 days my computer has been locking up and freezing with the data light on the computer to go into a solid state .
as for the locking up thing i mean it completley locks..mouse doesent move.. CTRL ALT DEL does nothing..only thing i can do is hit the power button untill it shuts off. I'v tried leaving it but the computer was still the same.

im running...
Hp pavilion desktop
windows 7 64bit
4gb RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT 130
500GB samsung HDD ( which i think is causing the problems )

And also i didn't mention to one thing that when I unplug the wire of Pc my BIOS didn't recognize the time and date , I have to change it myself (Not always) just when I unplug the wire .

so please help me with that im getting mad on that

You seem to have a couple of issues.

And also i didn't mention to one thing that when I unplug the wire of Pc my BIOS didn't recognize the time and date , I have to change it myself (Not always) just when I unplug the wire .

This happens when the CMOS battery is unable to keep enough charge, so when you unplug the PSU power source
+5V Standby Power also drops and clears your CMOS (BIOS).

Hard Hangs are usually hardware related :(.
I would start by taking a closer look at the HDD indeed as it is the first culprit that comes to mind.

Testing the HDD:

  1. Perform a Disk Check | http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html
  2. Then Post the results following | THIS METHOD
  3. Download SeaTools for Windows if you don't want to use a CD to test the HDD you can use YUMI – Multiboot USB Creator to create a bootable USB (instructions are found at the bottom of both pages).

I would first change the CMOS battery out for new one. Then while in the rig look at all the fans and cooling fins, is the rig full of dust then get some compressed air and blow the rig out completely and if you need more advice please ask. Heat is a issue most people don't think about till it's too late. Are your fans turning, is the rig loaded with dust ? Do this cleaning outside as the dust is superfine and if you haven't done this there will be tons. Reconnect everything and report back.

similar issue happened here but I solved it an easy way.
I just reconnected hdd - both SATA and power cables, and all has been fine since.
maybe try this first.
