System is RAID 0 with 4 harddrives, I want to put in new/faster HDs. I thought all I'll need to do is copy system with Nortons Ghost, replace the drives, install the Ghost disc and reboot, is this true?

Do I need to cpoy the bios info. before HD replacement and then after replacement go back into the bios and re-enter all the info as it was before I swapped HDs:confused:

Hi and thank you, glad to be here

Yes the puter was built by hp to my specs but now after a couple of years and various changes/upgrades I want to put in faster drives. The OS is now Win 7 64 bit overlaid ontop of/next to win vista 64 bit. Do I need to partition the new hard drives? I was hoping that all I needed to do was install the new drives and then use nortons Ghost disc to reinstall the OS. It sounds too simple? I'm trying to figure out what controller you're refering to Ken J+

yes what you asked about is true.

all you do is a disaster recovery image of the main drive (in your case both) but then also go a partition for the other before had as it should make it for you if it is already there. then load the recovery boot disc in and find/run the image.

so yes it really is kinda that simple. ;)

I actually use Active disk image. (same type drive imaging program) but does partitions as well, creates, manages etc etc..

you can not just install the program though then run the image once you have the new stuff because it is creating the stuff you imaged onto the main c drive or main drive where ever you put it so it can not be in use while doing it. That's why you have to do it through the boot disk.
