my hard drive stops spinning and when i open my docs or something, it takes a while for it to boot up. its happened recently, it never use to happen. i've checked all power settings, theres no limits.

There is a setting to spin down the drive on sleep or idle. I suspect its there

wheres that mate. had another look in power management, no sign of it

its set to 60mins

erm... the h/d needed a defrag system suite 10 pro done my system in i defraged with piriform defraggler, it done the job.
