Hardware Accelerator?

I think this is the right section for this question, but if it's not I apologize.

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series video card. I am trying to take screen captures of a PC game. It was working previously, but now I am just getting a black screen and I don't know why. I certainly haven't changed anything.

What was working previously:
1. Have game fullscreen.
2. Press PRTSC button.
3. Paste into new document in Photoshop.

And all that worked fine and is not working now.

From what I've been able to Google the issue might be with my hardware acceleration. Except, like I said, I haven't changed anything. And I can't turn down my hardware acceleration now.

Thoughts? Help?

The hardware acceleration option is greyed out. I can't do anything with it. I've scanned for viruses. Nada. And I haven't added or changed programs.

Taking screen shots of the same game?

Exactly the same. I'm not the savviest computer user, but I'm savvier than most of my peers, so I feel pretty confident in saying that I'm utterly perplexed by what changed.
