Hello

I need the use of Microsoft Front Page 2003, which will not install on Windows 7.

Can anyone advise me whether it is preferable to install Windows Virtual PC on C: of my Windows 7 Professional Computer, or to install XP on a secondary drive.

ASUS Z87-DELUXE INTEL Z87 SATA 6 USB 3.0 CROSSFIREX/S.

If the answer is to install Windows Virtual PC on my C: Drive, I attempted to do that and ran into the following problem:

I tried to install Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu, and received the following error message: “The update is not applicable to your computer.”

I found a tech report that said that this feature has "to be turned on" and also suggested that I update the BIOS before installing this file. Can you please tell me how to do these two things.

If the answer is to install XP on a secondary druve, Can you please supply instructions on how to do that.

Thank you.

Sheila V.

There is no reason why Frontpage 2003 should not install in Windows 7. You should post what error messages you get and/or a detailed description of the problem. We may be able to get that installed for you.

I assume you want to install XP in order to run Frontpage? As above, none of this should be necessary for that.

In your BIOS settings there should be an option - usually under the Advanced Tab - to Enable "Virtualization Technology". If this option is disabled then a virtual machine may not install.

I have Front Page 98 which will also not install on Windows 7 however for some reason one of the components, Microsoft Image Composer will install. You can install Virtual XP mode on your machine by enabling hardware virtualization in your bios, as TVeblen said. It is called on my computer Intel Virtualization Technology. Your CPU should be capable but it can be installed without it. But it will run better with hardware virtualization enabled. This will tell you exactly how to run it,

If you have a legal copy of XP, you can install it with VMware player also. It is free for private personal use. That's what I use and run several other VMs on my machine
